ON THIS DAY: Orcas are so intelligent. A pod played games with us today, so cheeky and intuitive they were. The pod was traveling along but really slowly and every few minutes would dive for a few
then come up ever so slowly. We kept our position in front, very quiet and even turned off the engine….. then as we were ready eagerly ready, they came up and ….turned! U-turned! DOH! 🙄 They did this like 3-4 times, at the very last second they knew we were about to drop and they turned. All I could do was laugh and laugh. 😜They got us each time. Sucked us in for the perfect drop then BOOM! HAHAHAHA 😆 I bet all 12 of them were cackling, clicking and squeaking to themselves with laughter #fooledthoosereallybadswimmersagain
With a separate pod I saw the fattest female orca I’ve ever seen. 😱💙Instinctively I would say she’s pregnant……. #vivaciouslypregnant (like my friend @jennamaym ) but the weight of the belly looks at the belly not near the peduncle. She was doing a bit of a duck dive at the time so maybe her belly fell forward a bit😬…… Let me know what you guys think? Is she pregnant or just full of herring? I haven’t seen a pregnant orca yet so #fingerscrossed she is. Here’s a couple of shots of her (she’s on the right). This trio were perfect in their fluidity and separation. I hope they’ll pass this on to the rest of the orcas. Orcas are highly intelligent but not great with separation when it comes to posing for photos LOL. I did send out a memo earlier and so far I think some have received it LOL. 🐋💙❄️ Can't wait for tomorrow…#whaletokens and an early start.
