“Somehow, Carey's complex compositions appear deceptively simple. Her whales are framed in such a way as to be simultaneously artistic yet wholly natural and relaxed.”

— Karin Cox, Wildlife Australia

A passion for adventure and the ocean

Jasmine Carey is an award-winning ocean photographer, storyteller and guide whose work has captured the hearts of ocean lovers across the world. Her evocative, perceptive imagery draws viewers beneath the surface into moments of intimacy, emotion and awe—revealing both the beauty and the vulnerability of the sea.

With over two decades of ocean exploration and photography experience, Jasmine has dived extensively throughout the Indo-Pacific, following her passion for whales from the tropical breeding grounds of Tonga to the icy fjords of Norway. Her imagery has been showcased in exhibitions, publications and campaigns around the world—spanning fine art, conservation and education—including Australian Geographic, Greenpeace, The Guardian, Loud and Luminous (celebrating 100 of Australia’s finest women photographers), Oceanographic, PADI, and the prestigious Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA), where she received the Grand Prize for her image Water.

Now steering her own path, Jasmine continues to guide and host others on transformative ocean experiences, sharing her knowledge, creativity and contagious love for the sea.

“It’s a continuing pleasure to see my guests—and the new friends I make along the way—reach new levels of understanding about the natural world and about themselves.”
